Recap: Honey Hunters win 1st game of doubleheader 5-2 and take 2nd game 7-2.

Gastonia N.C - Only 1 earned run by AJ Merkel and a homer by Jason Rogers were the reasons Gastonia took game 1 of the doubleheader against York.
Gastonia would strike first in the 2nd whenever Ryan Cordell would score off a groundout by Manuel Geraldo. York would eventually tie the game in the bottom of the 3rd whenever Osmy Gregorio would homer to left field. Gastonia would regain the lead in the 5th when Jason Rogers hit a 2-run bomb to left-center field to make it 3-1. In the 6th Gastonia would add on to their lead as Jake Skole and Ryan Cordell would score off singles by Manuel Geraldo and Jordan Howard. In the 7th, Osmy Gregorio would hit his 2nd homer of the game to left field. The winning pitcher of this game was AJ Merkel, his 5th of the season.
In game 2 of the doubleheader, Gastonia would score first as Josh Sale would score off a balk in the 2nd. In the 3rd, Boog Powell would score off a wild pitch to extend their lead. After this, Jake Skole and Emmanuel Tapia would hit back-to-back homers to make it 6-0. In the 4th, York would get on the board as Nellie Rodriguez would hit a 2-run homer to left-center field. The Honey Hunters would add on to their lead in the 6th when Jake Skole would score off a single by Emmanuel Tapia to make it 7-2. The winning pitcher of this game was Euclides Leyer, his 1st of the year.
